Last night (Wednesday 8th of November 2017) Paragon organised the event of the Year “An Evening with the Stars” in aid of The Rainbow Trust, WellChild and BBC’s Children in Need. Held for the first time at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge 800 guests joined a host of celebrities to raise thousands of pounds for children’s charities.
An Evening with the Stars is in its 7th year, raising over £1million for Children’s charities. Paparazzi cameras flashed at the entrance as the celebrities arrived and guests were welcomed on stage by Alesha Dixon and Martin Bayfield after a lavish Champagne reception.
Once seated West End Kids took to the stage, impressing all our guests, before a starter of smoked salmon with peppers, cream cheese and cucumber. Laura Wright stunned all with her incredible soprano performance of Invictus, before a brilliant acapella Jerusalem. Stars of Strictly Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite impressed with incredible moves that of course, Alesha was happy to give 10 points too!
After a main course of slow cooked beef, with mushroom and potato cake, Alexander Armstrong took to the stage, and charmed the audience, with his interactive game of pointless. The evening included a silent auction, raffle with incredible donated items such as a 3 day stay on a luxury yacht in Mallorca and a luxury 7-night stay in a beachfront Barbados apartment. ‘An Evening With The Stars 2017’ concluded with two incredible performers. M People’s Heather Small who sang ‘Movin On Up’ and Sophie Ellis-Bextor who performed ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ and ‘Get Over You’.
The evening was a fantastic success and Mike Martin, Founder and MD of Paragon commented “Year on year we strive to top the previous year’s event and I’d like to think that last night was no exception. I’m really pleased everyone had such a great time and the fact it was all for such an unbelievable cause, is absolutely fantastic”.
