On Tuesday 31st January, Paragon shareholder Phil Tufnell took up a challenge for his New Year’s resolution – to introduce himself to 20 of Paragon’s top clients, for 20 minutes in 1 day!
The initiative, which was to thank top clients and remind everyone of Paragon’s key services – corporate hospitality, event management and talent management, took an exhausting 8 hours in a single taxi driving around central London.
Paragon’s first appointment with Euler Hermes was a great success – Tuffers met four colleagues and enjoyed sharing stories about when he last played cricket and what he thinks is in store for the England team after their devastating loss in India. At another appointment with Thomsons Online Benefits, Jamie Fitt, Partnership Enablement Director commented: “Putting Clients at the centre of what we do and understanding them is fundamental to how we do business, so awesome to meet Phil and the team doing just that today”. The next appointments located over Westminster, Mayfair, Fitzrovia and Canary Wharf were fantastic successes with JLA and Playboy Club London being the highlight.
Vicky Davis from Caesars and Playboy Club London also spoke out about the 20 minute experience with the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here King and The Jump contestant “It was amazing to meet him (Phil), he was so charismatic and funny, a great person to join us for 20 minutes and chat about the year ahead. Really great challenge.”
Clients of Paragon not only got to meet Tuffers for 20 minutes and ask him uncensored questions, they also got a photo (or several!) with the celeb which will form an official certificate to celebrate the success of the challenge.
MD Mike Martin commented “Tuffers was in his element meeting and chatting to our clients and I was delighted to see how well us going that extra mile (literally!) was received by our clients. We pride ourselves on being a partner to clients and making sure we cover all their needs and requirements and if sometimes this means doing or delivering something extra special then we are only too happy to do so.”
Head of Marketing Megan Collins added “It is something a bit different we can do for our clients. Tuffers’ is a fantastic asset to the business but he is also a fantastic entertainer. It is how we differentiate ourselves in terms of our own unique events (by including celebrity time) and it is great to practice what we preach and get some quality face to face time in with our top clients.”
Phil, who is now recovering, commented “Felt a bit car sick after so many hours in a taxi but it was great to actually meet our customers in their workplaces and see what they were getting up to. It was great to get to know them for the year ahead, explain more what Paragon offers and thank them for their business. Looking forward to meeting them again at our events.”
Phil Tufnell is looking forward to doing it all again after hosting key events for the year including; A Question of Sport with Tuffers & Daws at Lord’s and Sporting Legends Go Racing Lunch for Cheltenham Gold Cup Day to name but a few.
