After a stint with Essex, Matt joined Kent’s second XI and made an immediate impact – claiming 19 wickets in seven games for Simon Willis’ side. He was soon awarded a contract for the 2014 campaign and was given a chance to shine in the first-team just two days later. Matt didn’t disappoint when entrusted with the new ball, returning 2-51 from 17 overs on his first-class debut. His second wicket was a highly memorable one, South African batsman Ashwell Prince.
Having passed up the opportunity to go to university in order to concentrate on his cricket career, Hunn hopes to make the most of his talent. “Any opportunity I get I want to take and be able to say I gave it my best shot, no matter what happens. “Whether it comes in one-day or four-day cricket, I’ll see where I go.”
