Sam Robson

Sam Robson made his first-class cricket Championship debut for Middlesex in 2009 and has since proved to be an extremely consistent opening batsman with a very solid and reliable technique to cope with facing new ball bowling.

Brought up in New South Wales Australia, Sam Robson spent his early seasons learning his trade in the highly competitive Sydney grade competition, before making the decision to move to London on his English passport to play cricket in the Premier Leagues around London. It was Middlesex that spotted his talent first and swiftly offered him a professional cricket contract.

Since joining the Middlesex playing staff Sam developed his game and through sheer volume of runs was selected to represent the England Lions in Australia and Sri Lanka during the 2013/14 Winter, during which time he scored five centuries and greatly impressed the senior England management team.

After a successful start to the English County Season in 2014, Sam made his full Test Debut against Sri Lanka in the first Test at Lords. In the same series, Sam scored his maiden Test century at Headingley in 2014.
